When cleaning your roof, you never want to use a pressure washer. Pressure washers damage shingles and are prohibited by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association(ARMA). When cleaning your roof you only want to use experienced SoftWash Professionals. We at MidSouth RoofSavers have gone through extensive training using the SoftWash processes and technologies. We rid your roof of those ugly black streaks. We also treat for moss and lichens. We can have your roof looking brand new with ZERO damaging effects.
When washing your house, you want to be wary of the use of pressure washers. Pressure washers can damage Vinyl siding by removing the UV coating and resulting in a chalky appearance. SoftWashing Vinyl siding not only retains the UV coating but also leaves a shiny waxed appearance.
When pressure washing a painted surface, you run the risk of removing paint and having to repaint or touch up paint. SoftWashing a painted surface results in a clean freshly waxed appearance.
NEVER,NEVER, NEVER use a pressure washer on Dryvit or Stucco surfaces!! This will result in removing layers possibly even holes in your homes exterior walls. SoftWashing is THE way to clean Dryvit and Stucco surfaces. PERIOD!!
When pressure washing brick, the dangers are minimal. The worst you can expect is tiger striping. This is when a pressure washer is turned up too high. The result is a striping effect.
The difference between a SoftWashing company and a traditional pressure washing company is, SoftWashing TREATS and KILLS the Mold, Algae, Moss and Bacteria that are living on the exterior of your home. We are in some ways a Pest Control Company in that we treat for living organisms(Mold, Algae, Moss and Bacteria). Pressure washers just blast it away but don't kill anything. So, you have to have it pressure washed again in the near future. With SoftWashing, we KILL it!!

Four Steps to Finding the Perfect Flat Roofing Contractor
Hiring a roofing contractor can be difficult enough, let alone a finding a flat roofing contractor to hire for your roofing project. Because flat roofing systems require more work and a specialized crew of workers, prices for flat roofing systems tend to be higher. It can be even tougher still to find a qualified roofing contractor who has the experience required for completing a flat roofing system. By using these four steps and doing a little research, you can find the best flat roofing contractor in your area.
Experience
Licensing and insurance only proves that you are able to do the work, it’s no guarantee that the work will be done up to your standards. A flat roofing specialist should have plenty of experience with flat roofing systems. Does your prospective flat roofing contractor install flat roofing systems all of the time or just that one time? Without a long list of past satisfied flat roofing customers, your prospective roofing contractor might not be the best choice for your roofing project.
Certification
Some flat roofing contractors are certified by specific manufacturers to use their product exclusively. Training programs, installation services and warrantees are all reasons to hire a certified flat roofing contractor. The downside is that only their particular product is going to be used on your project, so if you’re keen on another brand, you may want to opt out for a conventional roofing contractor.
EnergyStar Ratings
Is saving big bucks in your best interests? Then choosing an EnergyStar rated roofing material is for you. With annual energy savings by the truckload, you’re bound to get a good return on your investment. Best of all, EnergyStar rated roofing systems not only save you energy, they also can provide you with a tax break from the IRS. Grants and other local programs may be available in your area. Simply call your local building department for more information.
Materials
With a wide variety of flat roofing materials available on the market, it’s best to ask your potential flat roofing contractor what material they prefer. Many flat roofing materials are available for specific climates and regions, while other brands are not. An in depth knowledge of roofing materials is a sure sign that your roofing contractor is going to do a good job for you. Be skeptic of a roofing contractor who only offers you the cheapest brands. Cheaper means that the materials won’t last as long and might not be best for your flat roofing system. Always check warrantees and guarantees before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.

Keep Memphis Beautiful
We have a wonderful city and the people living here are great. Despite our diversity, we have come together as a community to clean up our city.We have made great strides in recent years in the urban areas of Memphis from the River Walk to Shelby Forest.
It's time we start on our homes. One of the easiest and least expensive projects we can do is, cleaning our roofs.Having your roof cleaned is not as expensive as you might think. I have talked with several friends and homeowners who have told me they think it would cost anywhere from $600.00 upwards to $1500.00! This simply is not true.
When pricing a roof cleaning job in Memphis, I take into consideration height of roof, amount of roof to be cleaned, steepness, landscape and potential for runoff. All of these combined and I have rarely exceeded $600.00. The average roof cleaning price I have found is anywhere from $200.00 to $600.00. You can spend more by adding additional services like house wash, driveway, patio or fence. But, additional services are entirely up to you , the customer.
I would like to see Home Owners Associations add this to their covenants. In addition to being healthy for a roof. It improves curb appeal DRAMATICALLY. This can improve the appearance of the entire development. Thereby increasing home values.
Another area where I get calls from are from individuals selling their homes. In this market you have to do everything you can to present your house in the best light possible. As I stated before, roof cleaning is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to do this.
Not EVERY roof needs to be replaced. Don't get me wrong. I am a roofer and I like to roof houses. BUT, just because the roof is dirty and ugly doesn't mean you have to replace it! If you have or are considering putting your house on the market, Take the "new roof" argument off of the table before you get to the table. Spend a few hundred bucks and have it repaired and cleaned.
Come on Memphis! Lets finish the job! Lets help Keep Memphis Beautiful!

Why Should I Clean My Roof?
If your roof shingles are still under their warranty period (typically 25 to 40 years) and still in good shape, call us to have it cleaned. If there are any leaks due to minor shingle damage or a few missing shingles, call us anyway and we can make simple repairs first! Pay a fraction of the cost of a new roof!FAQS:
We can clean those unsightly BLACK streaks off of your Roof. This will make your roof last longer and look new longer!
Q. Do I have to replace my roof to make it look new again?
A. If black streaks are your problem, you usually don't have to replace your roof. Shingle manufacturers recommend that you clean your roof every couple of years; this will prolong the life of your roof and keep it looking new.
Q. What are the black streaks?
A. Black streaks are caused by a hardy type of algae called Gloeoclapsa Magma. This algae feeds on the limestone in your shingles. The streaks form as the rain slowly spreads the algae down your roof.
Q. Is cleaning my roof merely a cosmetic repair?
A. NO. The black streaks will prevent your shingles from deflecting the sun properly and can increase your cooling costs. Also, since the algae is feeding on the limestone in your shingles, it is slowly breaking them down. By not cleaning your roof, you are reducing the life of your shingles by up to 50%!

Q. You're a pressure washing company, will you damage my roof with high pressure?
A. NO. We do not use a pressure washer at all when cleaning roofs. We use a specialized LOW PRESSURE system designed to gently clean the algae from the surface of your roof. Our system uses no more pressure than your garden hose! We simply apply the cleaner, allow it to dwell and rinse it clean.
